It took long enough. Our Pierce College instructors will now be titled "professor." And rightly so.

An epiphany struck English Professor Mike Darcher during a conference. Upon returning to the school, he began the charge in changing the name "instructor" to the more reputable name.

Finally, someone was able to make this happen.

This will make referencing and getting the attention of the people teaching our classes much less confusing. No more, "What did he want us to call him? Was it Mister? Doctor? Instructor? Oh, yeah, Professor Darcher."

Pierce is looking and feeling more like a prestigious school. The front entrance is in the middle of an incredible face lift, the informational reader board by the road will actually be read, and our educators will be respected more simply due to their title.

As we finish up our Pierce years, we will better be able to adjust to the university way. Most educators at universities are either called "doctor" or "professor" and ours will too.

Our educators are finally getting the respect they deserve.
