La is responsible for helping international students become fully involved and contributing to the Pierce College community.
This past Fall, he organized the Halloween Dance Party. In his second quarter, he helped orchestrate the annual International Week from Feb. 1 to Feb. 5.
He is the oversees all of the international activities that are produced in association with the Student Programs office and the International Education office.
For his role in International Week he said, "basically, I'm kind of a director. I'm processing and planning all kind of things for the events such as organizing, decorating, advertising, performing and schedule.
In addition, Jennifer, the International Education coordinator and I are helping out the international students to create and participate in this fun event.

La's favorite parts of being the international ambassador includes having fun making new friends and enjoying the company of students whether they are international or local students.
He likes to chat with students about their day or how the feel about their time at Pierce College.
The greatest challenges he faces as the international ambassador he said was making sure everything down to the planning and agreements for the events had to be perfect.
La said his duties as international ambassador include "talking to people, listening what they are saying, what I should do for them, especially the international students. The main part of duty is planning meaningful events for the international students and creating caring relationships between the international and domestic students."
Being the international ambassador for Pierce, La said, relates to his future career, because he loves working with people. The position is also helping him to improve himself both personally and academically.
