Desiree Gulliford, Andrew Phillips and Derek Woolery put together a red time machine to auction off at Paint Your Wagon.

Three Pierce College students designed a time machine to take children's imaginations far away.

The time machine is red, has four wheels, a black handle and is full of books and toys. Imagine a Radio Flyer red wagon.

The Tree House Time Machine was created by Student Relations Senator Desiree Gulliford, Clubs/Outreach Senator Andrew Phillips, and Derek Woolery.

They call it the Tree house Time Machine.

Because it is based on a simple red wagon inspired by the Calvin and Hobbes comic book. Phillips came up with the idea for the project, Gulliford illustrated the idea and all three built the wagon.

"Neither of us were technically inclined. A mathematician and a chemist tried to build a wagon," Phillips said. "I picked up elements from the comics and created the tree house theme."

The purpose for the wagon is to be auctioned off at an event called Paint Your Wagon sponsored by the Lakewood Promise.

The Lakewood Promise is an organization that created developmental resources for local youth ensuring that they have the care and support that children need to be successful in life.

The wagon symbolizes America's promise to young people and is meant to carry children's dreams.

Different organizations in the Lakewood area have sponsored their own wagons. All the wagons will be taken to the Paint Your Wagon's Ice Cream Social at Lakewood's Summer Fest on Thursday June 17.

The wagon will be judged and auctioned. All proceeds raised at the auction will go to Lakewood's Promise.

Very interesting indeed. I admire such people who can use their imagination in its full capacity to do something good.
